An oily macerate, also called oleic extract, is an oil resulting from the maceration of a plant in a so-called “carrier” vegetable oil . The maceration process allows this oil to collect and preserve the active ingredients of the plants.

In addition to smelling like cotton candy and making us completely gaga, balsam fir macerate has interesting properties for the skin. It is greatly appreciated in a respiratory ointment (a must in winter!), but also in a muscle oil or balm.
